When a company decides to build its own academy it sends a message to stakeholders – clients, partners, and most importantly, employees – that it is an organization that’s committed to growth through learning and development. Dr. Leonard Lane is not your typical learning and development guy. Leonard is a practitioner that believes in learning by doing. So, when Victor Fung, Chairman of the Fung Group, approached Leonard with the idea of starting Fung Academy, he knew that this is an opportunity innovate, to rethink what a corporate academy is and does, and to build one that is grounded in both learning and business.
In this episode, Leonard walks me through the reasons that led to the launch of Fung Academy, the process of building the Academy, and the challenges of running it.
